Svensk-Etiopiska Föreningen

The recent announcement and introduction of the Homegrown Economic Reform Agenda that the government has put forward as the road map for the management of the economy for the next three years has gone some way to respond to these concerns.
  5. [Addis Standard] Ethiopia has come a long way in experimenting on multi-national federalism as an organizing principle that was adopted not as a consocietional compromise to its enduring ailments, but as a result of elite bargaining. After almost three decades of learning, disruptions and regionalization, we are yet to see the genuine dividends of consociational democracy where divided societies endeavor to design grand principles and practices that help them find a peaceful way to survive together.
  6. [Nation] The millions of shillings to be paid for every life lost in the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash in March have started driving wedges between families who lost their relatives as they seek compensation.
  7. [Nation] At the Seoul Olympics in 1988, Kenya shocked the running world when its top male runners won the 800, 1,500, 5,000 metres and the 3,000-metre steeplechase gold medals.
  8. [Addis Standard] Addis Abeba October 20/2019 - Riding in the blue and white mini-buses in Addis is rarely quiet. The drivers play music all day; some from the radio and others from CDs or mp3 players with the latest and greatest of Ethiopian music. For many what this latest and greatest of Ethiopian music can vary week after week. Songs skyrocket to popularity and then disappear without a trace in just a few weeks, giving way to the newest incarnation.
  9. [Addis Fortune] Ethio telecom, the state telecom monopoly, is scheduled to fully adopt International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) before the end of this year.
  10. [Reporter] In an attempt to support the implementation of the South Sudanese peace agreement, Ethiopia is providing material support to South Sudan's National Pre-Transitional Committee (NPTC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia (MoFA) said this week.
