   [Shabelle] Beledweyne -- Senior officials from the Ethiopian military led by General Tesfaye and General Haji arrived in Beledweyne, the capital of Hiraan region, on Saturday.

   [VOA] Addis Ababa, Ethiopia -- Ethiopia's prime minister has appointed the spokesperson of the Tigray People's Liberation Front as head of an interim administration in the Tigray region.

   [Addis Standard] Addis Abeba -- Tigray's Agriculture Bureau has said that locust swarms are threatening the livelihoods of farmers yet to recover from impacts of the two years' war in three districts in Northwestern Tigray.

   [ENA] Addis Ababa -- The government is committed to support and encourage textile investment activities in Ethiopia, State Minister of Finance Semereta Sewasew said.

8. Prime Minister 'Appoints' Getachew Reda Head of Tirgay Interim Administration

   [Addis Standard] Addis Abeba -- The Office Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ahmed said PM Abiy has "appointed" Getachew Reda as head of the Interim Regional Administration (IRA) of Tigray regional state.

9. UN Rights Council Says Scale of Violations in Ethiopia 'Must Not Be Forgotten'

   [Addis Standard] Addis Abeba -- The UN Human Rights Council during an interactive dialogue with the International Commission of Human Rights Experts on Ethiopia (ICHREE) on Tuesday warned that the gravity and scale of the violations committed in Ethiopia since the outbreak of war, November 2020, must not be forgotten despite all the positive developments and relatively improved security that have seen in Tigray after both parties signed agreement.

10. 100,000 New Somali Refugees Arrived in Ethiopia in the Past Month, UN and Partners Are Calling for Urgent Funding

    [WFP] As needs grow and refugees continue to arrive, UN agencies and partner organizations today appealed for $116 million to provide life-saving assistance to Somali refugees seeking safety in an extremely remote area of Ethiopia's Somali region. Since hostilities erupted last month in the city of Laascaanood, in the Sool region, Somalia, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced within Somalia and close to 100,000 are estimated to have crossed the border into Ethiopia to escape violence.
